Within our cozy town of 2,400 residents, there are several attractions beyond the scenery and serenity.

Chatfield is the gateway to Minnesota's Bluff Country. If you are looking for activities during your stay, the options are plentiful. Our town has multiple Amish furniture stores, a great bakery and a flower and candy store that has no rivals, and a canoe rental business.

If you are a fisherman, the "Root River" and "Mill Creek" flow past the edge of town. In addition to Mill Creek, there are other small trout streams within a few minutes drive.

Chatfield itself is known as "Band town USA." Chatfield is the home of the world's only Brass Band Lending Library. Area musicians put on concerts in the park during the summer months.

The Pope and Young Archery Museum calls Chatfield home. For those of you interested in bow hunting, or in wildlife in general, this is a "must see" museum. We are hoping the big buck that dines in our garden areas will soon be a resident in this museum.

Chatfield is horse country, and celebrates "Western Days" as our town celebration the second weekend every August. While no one has bothered to count, the area surrounding our town is probably home to more horses during Western Days than people.

In the area surrounding Chatfield, there are several more attractions. Bluff Country has a wonderful bike trail. Access to the trail is just over 10 minutes away. The town of Lanesboro is a popular afternoon destination and is only 20 minutes "down the road." We have mapped out several beautiful driving tours including Amish tours, scenic drives through the rolling hills, along the Mississippi bluffs, or along one of the best Bald Eagle viewing areas in the country.
